Terms of Use
DRAFT, not yet in effect
These terms are the rules for using Raftie, a service run by [COMPANY OR OWNER NAME] (“we”). By signing in you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Raftie
- You must be 13 or older. [Lawyer: confirm the minimum age, and any parental consent needed, for each country Raftie is offered in.]
- You sign in with your own Google account, and you’re responsible for what happens on it.
- Rooms mix adults and teenagers, so everything you say and write must be suitable for a mixed-age audience.
Be kind: community rules
Raftie works because people help each other practise. When you’re in a room, don’t:
- harass, bully, threaten or insult anyone, or mock how they speak;
- share sexual content, or try to start a romantic or sexual conversation, especially with someone younger than you;
- use hate speech or attack anyone for who they are;
- spam, advertise, scam, or ask people for money or personal details;
- ask anyone, especially a teenager, to move to a private chat, call or other app;
- record other people, or share what they said, without their permission;
- pretend to be someone else, or lie about your age;
- break the law, or try to break or overload Raftie.
Safety tools
- Report anyone from their profile. We read reports and may remove accounts that break these rules.
- Block someone to stop hearing them, hide their messages, and end any follows between you.
- A room’s host can remove someone from that room.
Your content
What you say and write stays yours. You give us permission to carry it to the other people in the room, which is what Raftie is for. Voice is not recorded, and room chat is not stored after the room ends.
Ending your account
You can stop using Raftie at any time and ask us to delete your account at [CONTACT EMAIL]. We may close accounts that break these rules, and we may remove anyone from a room to keep it safe.
The service
Raftie is free during early access. We work hard to keep it running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or stop features. Paid features, if we add them, will have their own terms.
To the extent the law allows, Raftie is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect losses or for what other people say or do in rooms. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law. [Lawyer: adapt to the governing law.]
Changes and contact
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app first. These terms are governed by the laws of [COUNTRY]. Questions? Write to [CONTACT EMAIL].
